Bears Enter the Fray

Last weekend Rifle Bears were privileged to Scrimmage 3 games up at beautiful CMC Spring Valley Campus. We played Moffat County, Durango and Montrose. Fall Sports Parent Meeting Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The fall sports parent meeting at RHS will be held next Tuesday evening, Aug. 16, at 7:30 starting in the RHS auditorium.  This will be for parents of athletes in cross country, spirit/cheerleading, volleyball, football, boys’ soccer, and softball.  Boys’ golf had their meeting earlier due to its earlier start so parents of those boys

Rifle Athletes Achieve Academic All-State Honors

Rifle’s varsity athletic teams achieved some great success in the classroom this year with 64 students receiving Academic All-State First Team awards and 22 more receiving Honorable Mentions. Baseball Wins Academic State Title for Third Straight Year

The Rifle High School varsity baseball team has won its third consecutive Les Schwaab 4A Academic State Championship for this past spring season with an overall team GPA of 3.69, highest among all 4A baseball schools in the state. Cumulative grade point averages of varsity players who were eligible to participate in at least 75 percent

Softball Pre-season Clinic Schedule and June Team Info

    Pre-Season Clinic   Rifle’s softball coaches will be holding a 4-week preseason clinic from July 18 to August 13 for a cost of $75 per player.  The clinic breaks up each day to focus on different skills and/or position groups.  The schedule below shows what days/times everything will be and what will happen

Baseball Qualifies for Playoffs

Rifle’s baseball team defeated Battle Mountain, 3-2, on Tuesday to finish its regular season with a 14-5 record, good enough to qualify for the state-wide district playoffs. With the win the Bears were able to secure a 15 seed in the tournament and will travel to Pueblo Saturday to play the 18th seed Thompson Valley

Girls Golf Wins Regional Championship

The Rifle Girls’ golf team continued its domination this spring by winning the regional championship at Moffat County’s Yampah Valley Golf Course last Saturday with a team score of 252. With the win the Lady Bears completed a sweep of every tournament they played in this spring with all but one of those wins coming
